‘WHAT REALLY WORKS’
for both staff and students
to broaden and build
sustainable ‘real world’
WELLBEING IN ACTION.
Two days of practical, professional learning led by
Dr Helen Street
and some very special guests.
1. Better understand and embrace a CONTEXTUAL WELLBEING framework for real-world wellbeing development in your classrooms, staffrooms and in your whole school.
2. Unpack your core values, to establish what matters to you as an educator, and as a person supporting the wellbeing of others.
3. Learn how to effectively undertake a meaningful wellbeing audit of your classroom, staffroom or whole school community, to realize what authentically works, what challenges, and what next.

1. Build knowledge and skills to manage resistance to change, and ensure your students, colleagues and parents are on board emotionally as well as practically.
2. Create a journey of equity and inclusion. Our focus includes students identifying as neurodivergent, experiencing anxiety and trauma, and those who consider themselves to be outliers of their school community.
3. Understand how to measure impact and move forward with confidence, competency and clarity.

She is also a best-selling author, well-known presenter, an honorary fellow at The University of Western Australia, and the co-founder of Positive Schools.
Helen will be joined by leading Australian experts in trauma-informed practice from
The MacKillop Institute and leaders from Peer Support Australia.
School teams have the option to work together.
All participants will leave with a comprehensive ACTION PLAN, and WORKBOOK, along
with the offer of CONTINUING SUPPORT and guidance.
Copies of Helen’s new book The Impossible Question of Living Well, additional workbooks,
and copies of Contextual Wellbeing will be available at the events.
This event will help you build Contextual Wellbeing with the considered development of you and your students’ autonomy, relationships and ongoing competency, and a clear focus on equity, safety and inclusion. How this looks, feels and sounds, will be dependent on the unique experiences within each classroom, staffroom and whole school community.
'What works well' and indeed, what challenges staff, students and parents varies according to who you are and where you are. Influencing factors include type and style of your school, the culture, the shared measures of success, and the values of everyone in the community.
Together we will create a meaningful ACTION PLAN to ensure that wellbeing development is relatable, relevant and resonates with all those within your unique context.
We will embrace Contextual Wellbeing for both students and staff, in the reality of your daily school life. As such, you will be encouraged to shift your attention away from the 'next big thing' in wellbeing programs; and instead, embrace the art and science of building thriving wellbeing communities, with an appreciative focus.
"After fifteen years and over seventy-five successful Positive Schools conferences, I have come to believe that there is a lack of understanding about how best to support wellbeing in schools. I'm convinced the Positive Schools 2024 'Big Workshop' clearly addresses this challenge, as the most informed, comprehensive event we have ever delivered. The event will offer educators an evidence-based, dynamic, custom-made and precise set of real-world tools and ideas. Information that delegates can take into their classrooms and broader communities to ensure that they can put wellbeing successfully into action in their schools. This is not another program, nor is it an add-on initiative or passing trend. This is real-world, systemic development. If you want to understand how wellbeing in your school is experienced, and how to build it, then, Positive Schools 2024 promises to deliver like no other. "
